Detroit Artists Market

About

Founded in 1932, the Detroit Artists Market (DAM) shows and sells the best of the Detroit region's contemporary art - connecting and informing artists, audiences, art lovers and collectors in this growing and vibrant community.

The Detroit Artists Market has served Detroit and the region for nearly 80 years. DAM was founded in 1932 during the Great Depression as a way for local artists to show and sell their work - and to develop the audiences and collectors who support the arts. The Detroit Artists Market continues that direct and important mission today.

Throughout the year we produce seven exhibitions of contemporary artwork, host Gallery Talks, produce special events, manage a sales gallery full of local artwork, and participate in a variety of community events and initiatives. As we approach our 80th anniversary, DAM continues to be a lively and vital part of Detroit.

We proudly foster the creative spirit in artists and audiences, and believe wholeheartedly in the important role of this work in Detroit's revitalization.

Mission: Founded in 1932, the Detroit Artists Market fosters a vibrant and distinctive artistic community in Detroit and Michigan by promoting, exhibiting and selling the work of emerging and established artists, through educational programming and art exhibitions, and by serving as a resource to all who seek to expand their knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of art.
