Walked dogs at cchs
Had a couple people come in with orders, I otherwise tidied up the area, and began labeling food in the back.
I decided to stay an extra hour, and sign up for another shift from 3:00 to 4:00, as I am still helping with orders and putting stickers on food in the back.
Socialized the cats!
I walked a dog from the CCHS for an hour. Dog is in the attached photo
Helped out at the paraplegic track meet at the SDC. Helped time runners as well as setup events. It was disorganized but I had a great time.
Donated blood for the blood drive and they got the needle in first try.
Gave blood at the Order of Omega blood drive.
Red Cross Blood Drive
I gave a power red blood donation to the Red Cross during their blood drive in the MUB. The phlebotomists that took the blood explained the need for blood and how the supply can get critically low during the Winter. Every time that I have participated in a blood drive has helped to give me a different level of appreciation for the volunteers, doctors, and other health professionals that work to maintain public health. Donating blood is one of the most effective time commitment to level of directly observable impact that I have encountered. I would be more than happy to donate blood again as soon as I am able to.
We helped to move boxes of toys for the Salvation Army in Hancock. They made brownies for us and were an absolute joy to talk to!!
Salvation Army, moving boxes and furniture.
I helped several other Fraternity brothers to move boxes and furniture for the Salvation Army location in Hancock. We moved donation boxes into the basement of the building and helped to organize them by category. We also helped to put away tables and chairs. The Salvation Army volunteers were very kind and explained many of the ways that they help to foster the sense of community in and around MTU. I would 100% participate in volunteering to assist this organization again.
Helping with the Heikinpäivä Festival in Hancock. I was in the parade as the swan and helped with collecting costumes after the parade. We also helped prepare the Finish American Heritage center for the evening dance after the Tori Market closed.
