This event is open to Chico State students/staff/faculty only. ❗

Chico State students will honor the legacy of César Chávez with the annual community service event Cats in the Community on Thursday, March 31st. Students are encouraged to sign up for this great opportunity to give back to the Chico community during this national day of service.

Each person wishing to participate must register individually.

What to Bring
  • Reusable water bottle (a filling station will be available at the SSC plaza during check-in)
  • Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Pants and long sleeves are recommended for most sites. Yoga/stretch pants are not recommended for Bidwell Park due to thorns on plants.
  • Wear close-toed shoes.

10:15 am: Welcome
10:20 am: Leave for volunteer sites and volunteer until finished (approximately 1 pm)

Chico State Bike Path Cleanup10:00am (PT)1:00pm (PT) Join your fellow Wildcats to help clean up the bike path used by Chico State students daily. You will use the provided tools to pick up litter while also making note of maintenance issues. Chico State Compost Garden10:00am (PT)1:00pm (PT) Composting diverts wastes that are currently going to the landfill. Composting also improves the fertility and health of gardens and gives an opportunity to learn about the process of decomposition.
