About

🐛Join us at ECO City for a morning of work at our Bladensburg location, a 3.5 acre working urban agriculture farm where organic vegetables are grown and composting happens! Our food is distributed locally to CSA members (Community Supported Agriculture) and donated to seniors in need.

🌿Work varies by season but volunteers can generally expect to help out with weeding, mulching, bed prep and planting. Volunteers should come prepared to work outside (closed toes shoes, long pants/sleeves recommended, water, sunblock/hat). Come out and see how we implement sustainable growing practices to advocate for health and wellness in our daily lives, community, and the environment!

COVID-19 Policy

  • When on ECO's premises and working, standing, or talking within 6 feet of another person, staff and volunteers are required to wear a mask fully covering the nose and mouth.
  • Fully vaccinated members of the ECO community are NOT required to wear masks when outdoors, however because vaccinated individuals can still contract and spread COVID, mask wearing at all times is still considered the safest action and therefore strongly encouraged.
  • While our policies are intended to maximize the safety of all, ECO City Farms policies are proactive and not punitive. We reject all forms of hate, racism, homophobia, misogyny, and xenophobia in the workplace and the community. We believe that ECO City Farms has an important role to play in helping keep our communities free of hatred and violence, and to make just and equitable decisions in this time of crisis.
