Session Description

This virtual session focuses on effective design and deployment of Spring 2023 Blackboard course sites and is led by OHIO instructional designers and technologists. Instructors should plan to “bring” their current Bb courses to this structured review session during which staff from the Office of Instructional Innovation and Information Technology share evidence-based practices to use in the learning management system. This tune-up is especially valuable for those teaching fully online courses and hybrid courses. It is also an excellent opportunity for face-to-face instructors seeking to create efficiency and more fully support student learning by leveraging Bb.

Learning Outcomes

Following this session, instructors will

• Review their Bb course site for clarity, consistency, and navigability.
• Consider instructional efficiencies and time savings gains supported by Bb. 
• Identify how their Bb courses currently support or can better support student learning.
• Identify changes they will make to their current Bb courses sites to support student learning and engagement.
