About
As part of National Public Lands Day, help us take control of the rampant buckthorn in the charming Lily Lake Woods. With your support and the aid of other volunteers joining from different organizations for the day, we aim to clear a significant part of the woods, restoring its natural beauty.
Tools & Equipment:
🔹 Loppers
🔹 Pruning saws
🔹 Pruning shears
Please bring your own preferred tools. If you require equipment, do notify us.
Process:
Our objective is to snip the buckthorn stems as close to the ground as feasible. Post-cutting, we will apply Garlon 3 on the stump. If you possess a daubing kit, kindly bring it along and inform us if you have or don't have this item.
Safety Recommendations:
🧤 Gloves are advised
👚 Wear a long-sleeved shirt for protection
🦵 Consider bringing knee pads if you find them useful
