About
Thanks for joining us on this biochar adventure at Allemansrätt Wilderness Park! We'll start by warming up with the Great River Greening team, hauling and stacking recently removed buckthorn, followed by biochar production from waste wood. You'll also learn about its applications in natural resource management.
Please note: The schedule may be subject to changes due to weather conditions. Registrants will be notified about any changes as the event approaches.
We will walk on the ice to the island (approximately 1.47 km). An Ice Safety Kit will be provided for the event. Please note that if there is no snow cover, the ice may be slippery.
This event is open to all, and any necessary training will be provided.
Once you register via GivePulse, you will also receive more event details and reminders as the date approaches.
If the event has reached capacity, please add your name to the waitlist, and you will be automatically registered if space becomes available.
DAY OF:
Upon arrival, go directly to the registration table to check-in. Volunteers, please arrive at least 10 minutes before the event start time to complete the registration process.
If you are a minor registering yourself, please provide an email address in the "Linked Survey" box so we can send the Youth Liability Waiver to your parent or guardian. If you are an adult bringing a minor, you can add them as an attendee and simply check the "Youth Waiver" box during registration. If you are an adult registering yourself and another adult, you will need to enter their unique email address in the Attendee registration so they can confirm their registration and sign their waiver.
SAFETY:
The safety of our volunteers is our top priority. This is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather. It’s important that participants wear close-toed shoes and long sleeves to protect against ticks and brush. Layering is key to staying comfortable. Water will be available on-site for refills, but to reduce waste, we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY:
All volunteers participating in Great River Greening events release Great River Greening and its employees, officers, directors, or agents from any and all liability from claims of any nature whatsoever arising from participation to the extent such liability is directly attributable to the negligence of GRG or its respective employees, officers, directors, or agents.
Note: By registering online, you will complete the release of liability and photo release waivers. Please let us know at the event if you wish to be excluded from event photography.
