Jay M. Robinson Middle School TreeCare

Hello from TreesCharlotte!

All CMS events require pre-registration through the CMS Volunteer portal, if you are not currently registered as a CMS volunteer: Register here!

TreesCharlotte is heading to Jay M. Robinson Middle School to care for the trees on their grounds.

We periodically return to previous planting sites to ensure trees continue to thrive by providing pruning, mulching, and removing stakes, tags, and guards as needed. Stewardship events are vital to our mission of expanding Charlotte's tree canopy.

TreesCharlotte will:

• Provide all the tools needed for the event.
• Offer a tree-care demonstration by our staff.
• Have staff guide and supervise the placement of mulch and removal of tree guards and stakes (if needed).
• Take photos and gather testimonials.

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING: Necessary tools will be provided, but volunteers are asked to bring or wear the following:

• Work gloves (highly recommended). If you don't have any, we’ll have gloves available.
• Close-toed shoes suitable for outdoor work, as you’ll likely get dirty.
• A water bottle. Water will also be provided at the check-in area.
• Optional: An extra pair of shoes/clothes for the ride home in case you get muddy.

Events are held rain or shine, and details will be emailed to registered volunteers the week of the event.
