About
Superior Avenue Community Farm is a neighborhood-based urban farm and education site stewarded by Food Strong. Located on Cleveland’s East Side, the farm is part of a larger effort to transform vacant land into spaces for food sovereignty, youth education, environmental healing, and community connection.

What Volunteers Do
Volunteer projects are hands-on and often physical. While some shifts may include planting, harvesting, weeding, mulching, or composting, many projects focus on general farm and property work.
Tasks may include:
-
Moving mulch, soil, brush, weeds, supplies, furniture, or equipment
-
Shoveling, cleanup, and general site maintenance
-
Clearing and organizing indoor or outdoor spaces
-
Basic construction, repair, or improvement projects
-
Garden bed maintenance and seasonal farm work
-
Seed, tool, or supply sorting for lighter-duty tasks
Volunteers should expect to be active, get dirty, and help wherever needed. Projects vary based on the farm’s current needs, weather, and season.
All tasks are guided by staff or trained volunteers. No experience is required.

🌻 Why It Matters
Your time helps grow fresh food, support neighborhood-based education, and strengthen community-led food systems on Cleveland’s East Side. Every hour volunteered contributes directly to land stewardship, youth learning, and long-term neighborhood revitalization.
We look forward to working alongside you at Superior Avenue Community Farm!
Note
We strongly encourage volunteers to sign up for scheduled shifts on GivePulse. Walk-ins are welcome, but signing up first helps ensure staff are on site to guide activities and provide a safe, meaningful experience.
Paper volunteer forms and waivers will be available on site for volunteers with limited mobility or internet access. These forms and waivers must be completed upon arrival for all walk-ins or volunteers using paper forms.
