2026 Smathers 5K

The Smathers 5K walk/run travels past all six campus library branches! 

There is no registration fee for this race. The race starts at 9am. Please arrive no later than 8:30am for registration.

More info:

1. The race starts at Gate 7 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, which is on University Avenue. Park at the Oconnell Center Parking Lot (250 Gale Lemerand Dr, Gainesville, FL 32611).
2. This is a self-timed race, we will not have an official timekeeper, so please plan accordingly! 
3. There will be a map of the race near registration, police officers, signs, and volunteers along the route to help with navigation.
4. There will be water and light snacks at the start/finish line. Please feel free to bring your own water bottles for along the route.
5. The bathrooms are located inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
6. There is not an award ceremony after the race.
