2026 Fall Seeds to Starts Workshops

Saturday, August 8th from 9:00am to Saturday, September 12th, 2026 12:00pm

About

Join us as we get our plants ready for fall! Help us start many of the transplants that we use in our gardens, while also learning how to start your own seeds at home.

Volunteers will learn how to prepare soil for seeds, how to plant seeds, and how to transfer seedlings into starter pots. No gardening experience is needed.

The vegetables and herbs that we start during these workshops go into gardens all over the city during our seasonal Dig-Ins, and these plants are a big part of our mission to help more Austinites have better access to organic, locally grown, affordable food.

Please note that the workshops are independent and you’re welcome to join us for 1, 2 or all 3. The first workshop will be focused on starting seeds in trays, while the second and third workshop will also include bumping up seedlings from trays to 4" pots. We split up the workshops this way so we have transplants ready to go throughout the season.

CANCELLATION: We know that things come up from time to time and if you're unable to join us, it is extremely helpful if you cancel your reservation so we have an accurate count for the day.
