Welcome to the Fredericksburg SPCA Volunteer Page!
Thank you for your interest in supporting our mission. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, including individual volunteering, one-day events, group volunteering, and more. Volunteering with us goes beyond daily tasks like dishes and dog walks...you’ll have the chance to contribute to events, special deliveries, ongoing projects, and other meaningful activities that support both our animals and the programs that serve them.
IMPORTANT NOTES-
Please sign up for an orientation first! You must complete and orientation before you can participate in any in shelter task or other events. (This will count toward one hour of volunteer service.)
Peanut butter is used heavily in our facility, allergy warning!
If you are seeking to fulfill Court/ Lawyer Ordered Community Service, an additional application is required in order to receive a letter of appreciation for tracked hours. Please email volunteer@fredspca.org for more information and next steps. (Must be 18+)
During any time at the shelter you must wear long pants (no sweatpants or leggings,) close toed shoes, and full coverage shirts (no spaghetti straps.)
Volunteer Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Age REQUIREMENTS-

Individuals six and under may not be volunteers.

If you are 15 or younger you must be with a parent or guardian at all times.

If you are under 18 you may not handle any dogs, even if accompanied by a guardian.
- If you are 18 year or old you may walk dogs after 10 hours of volunteering and a training course. Courses are leveled by starting at green moving to pink and finishing with orange.
