Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank

We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and the sole distributor of surplus food products to over 120 charitable food programs, including our region's soup kitchens, food shelves and shelters. As a food bank, our primary role is to provide food to the front-line charitable agencies that offer meals to the hungry. In addition, we provide food to over 1,500 people per month as part of our own direct service programming. As part of Feeding America, a national network of food banks, we rescue food and non-food items from national and regional manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, restaurateurs and growers. These products are temporarily stored in our 24,000 square foot warehouse, then quickly distributed to agencies and people in need throughout our service region.

Mission: Feed Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin's hungry by rescuing and distributing food and engaging our region in the fight against hunger.
