Humane Society Of The Ozarks

About

The Humane Society of the Ozarks promotes the wellbeing of animals in NWA through education, advocacy and rescue. Since 1944 our organization has been on the forefront of animal welfare in Northwest Arkansas. We are 501(c)3 organization and are not affiliated with any national organizations. We provide many programs to fulfill our mission and core values. Many are programs specific to Humane Society of the Ozarks and others, such as our Animal Care Education (A.C.E.) and feral cat trap/neuter/return are joint projects with other animal welfare organizations in our community.

We assist other shelters and rescues by taking custody of some of their dogs at times of high census, we assist with rescue of abandoned, neglected and abused animals, and we take custody of animals in need of veterinary care. We do not have a physical shelter so we rely on adoption events on weekends at various locations such as the Downtown Springdale Farmers' Market, Petsmart in Fayetteville, Tractor Supply in Springdale and Farmington, Pet Supply Plus in Rogers and Three Dog Bakery in Bentonville. We are always in need of volunteers to assist with these events.

We also have programs to reduce the cost of spay and neuter, provide emergency veterinary care for low income households, shelter/rescue outreach programs, education, senior pet care guidance.

We have a number of fundraisers throughout the year and have administrative offices located in Fayetteville.
