Help support local gardeners at the Butte Environmental Council’s Oak Way Community Garden! ๐ŸŒฑ Volunteers will pitch in with hands-on garden and infrastructure maintenance to help keep this shared community space safe, functional, and ready for another growing season.

Your work will directly support local gardeners who use the space to grow fresh food for themselves and their families. ๐Ÿ’š

What you’ll do:
๐ŸŒฟ Pull grass and unwanted vegetation throughout the garden
๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Help reinforce and maintain garden fencing
๐Ÿ‚ Collect and process yard waste
โœจ Support general garden maintenance and beautification projects

What to bring/wear:
๐Ÿ‘• Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Closed-toe shoes are required
โ˜€๏ธ Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, or layers depending on the weather
๐Ÿ’ง Bring a water bottle
๐Ÿงค Tools and project supplies will be provided

Accessibility note:
This project takes place outdoors in a community garden and may involve standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pulling, lifting, carrying, and working with garden tools and fencing materials. Volunteers may encounter uneven ground, dirt or mud, vegetation, insects, yard waste, changing weather conditions, and ambient outdoor noise. Volunteers will work in a small to medium-sized group.
