I did a majority of the crew leading today which was awesome! We planted with experienced volunteers and local residents receiving trees. We got to plant butterfly magnolias today which was amazing!

Planted with PCC's Environmental Justice Club today! It was awesome! We planted an incense cedar that smelled amazing!!
We planted a variety of trees including the Western Red Cedar. There was a huge community turnout with the ESL kids from Douglas school. Also, multiple county commissioners and a state representative attended the planting. I thought it was super cool to run into Jo Ann Hardesty there!
Worked with Rob to help facilitate a Free Food Market in conjunction with Washington Country Homeless project. Super fun experience handing out almost 2500 pounds of food!!
Today was a great tree planting day! I had fun as the Assistant Crew Leader for River. We planted 7 trees including new varieties I hadn't heard of before including a London type and an after burner variety.
My first Assistant Crew Leader planting! It went really well. I had a great mentor with Randy who helped me properly demonstrate key tree planting techniques such as how to tie the appropriate knot to stabilize the tree. We helped a family put 7 new trees in their lot including doug fir and ponderosa pine. It was awesome to be part of planting trees that will be here long after I am gone.
Super fun neighborhood tree planting today! A little cold but we kept warm with coffee and hand warmers!
