We picked up trash along the greenway at Tyson Park. Some of us picked up along the roads and the bank. A few were able to get into Third Creek to remove trash as well.

We picked up trash along the strip, behind Vol Hall, Hodges, and Massey.
I co-led a group of around 20 people at West High School for the weed wrangle. We pulled invasive plants from an area utilized by the Environmental Club at the high school.
We pulled English ivy and winter creeper from the river trail. Removing these plants will make room for native wildflowers to resprout and grow.
We removed English ivy and periwinkle from the Discovery Trail. One group hand pulled the ground cover and the other group removed the ivy growing up the trees.
We removed Chinese privet from the Grayson Subaru Preserve to open up the space for the second phase of the project. Even though it rained on us the whole time, I had so much fun!
We removed Chinese holly and leatherleaf mahonia from the homesite at Ijams. We used weed wrenches to pull up the shrubs, making sure to get the roots. If needed, we used herbicide to make sure they do not come back. After that, we used the plants to create eco-friendly holiday wreaths.
I worked a deer check on this day as well. The procedures were the same as the last impact, but I only worked the morning shift on this day.
I assisted with a deer check station, arriving at 7:30 am which is around the time when legal hunting light begins. Throughout the day, hunters would bring in their deer and we would take measurements from them such as weight, antler lengths, points, and age. When legal hunting light was over at 6, we waited to make sure there were not any hunters left in the woods, and then we cleaned the scales, processing tables, and work stations before leaving at 8 pm.
