About
The Historic Athens Preservation Awards, a signature annual event of Historic Athens, highlights the best preservation projects from the past year and the stories behind them. This year's multi-part event features exclusive access to sites across Historic Downtown Athens, followed by a reception & awards presentation featuring live music by The Original Splitz Band at the Morton Theatre.
Volunteers are needed to help at Downtown Excursion stops:
- First AME Church
- Creature Comforts
- Wilson's Styling Shop
- Caledonia Lounge
- Old Fire Hall No. 1
- Parrott Building
- K.A. Artist Shop
- Costa Building
- Southern Bell Building
Volunteers will help guests with directions, provide information about the Downtown Excursion site, and ensure all sites are left clean and tidy after the event.
