Make Mending Kits for Unhoused Community

Drop by (sign-up is optional) our Community Space at Austin Creative Reuse to help us assemble  mending kits for unhoused people in our community! These little mending kits, all contained in a reused Altoid tin, will have everything one needs to give their clothing a longer life - essential when one's ability to buy new clothing or access mending services is limited.

At this drop-by event, you'll help us cut fabric patches, thread buttons onto safety pins, and assemble all the pieces needed for each kit. Come and help for 10 minutes or a whole hour - up to you! This event is suitable for volunteers of all ages - so its a great opportunity to get the whole family involved!
