Description
Can JAWS navigate your Word, PowerPoint or PDF document? We're not talking about the shark, but the screen reader used by many people with visual impairments. If a document isn't designed with accessibility in mind, important content can be difficult—or impossible—to access. Learn how to use the built-in accessibility tools in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to identify and fix common issues before publishing your course materials. We'll also discuss when a Canvas page provides a more accessible alternative to a document. Do you have PDFs in your courses? We'll demonstrate how to use AI to convert PDF content into accessible HTML for use in Canvas.
Bring your laptop and your formidable files for the hands-on portion of the session. We can check and troubleshoot them together. No prior accessibility experience needed.
