Description
This is a repeat of the in-person held on Oct. 14. You only need to attend one version.
In this hands-on session, participants will explore when it makes sense to use vibe coding* in Claude versus creating a Custom GPT. We will look at practical examples of AI-created learning tools and artifacts, then walk through how to embed those tools into Canvas for student use. Participants will also learn options for using these activities as graded or ungraded assignments, including ways to connect student work to the Canvas Gradebook. The goal is to help faculty and staff move beyond simply using AI for content creation and begin building interactive, course-ready tools that support teaching, learning, and student engagement.
*Vibe coding is the process of using AI tools, such as Claude, to build interactive digital tools, activities, or applications by describing the desired outcome in natural language and iteratively refining the AI-generated code.

Objectives
1. Differentiate between vibe coding and Custom GPTs to determine which approach best fits a specific teaching or learning goal.
2. Create an AI-supported learning activity or artifact using vibe coding or a Custom GPT and identify how it can be embedded into Canvas.
3. Create a Canvas ready file of your AI-created activities (including options for graded and ungraded use and connections to the Canvas Gradebook), and integrating it into Canvas.
