About
Are you handy with a hammer? Skilled with a sewing machine? Savvy with electronics? Fix-It Austin needs your help!
Join us as a volunteer coach at our next Fix-It Clinic and share your repair know-how with neighbors who want to keep their favorite items out of the landfill.
This event features two ways for the community to participate:
-
Drop-off Repairs: Before the clinic opens to the public, volunteers will work individually or in teams to repair items dropped off by community members who can’t attend in person (due to work schedules, childcare needs, transportation challenges, etc.).
-
Traditional Clinic: Once the clinic opens, attendees will work side-by-side with volunteer coaches to troubleshoot and fix their broken items — learning valuable repair skills along the way!
As a volunteer, you’ll start the day helping with drop-off repairs, then transition to coaching attendees during the public portion of the event. A light lunch will be provided before the clinic opens to the public.
Please note: We no longer accept laptops, cell phones, or tablets at Fix-It Clinics. These items require extensive troubleshooting and often take significant time to repair.
We’ll have a selection of common tools and equipment available, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
We’re so grateful to our volunteers — these events couldn’t happen without you!
