About

It is estimated that colleges throw away 22 millions pounds of extra food every year. The purpose of Food Recovery is to recover this extra, wholesome food that would otherwise be wasted and donate it to hungry people. Razorback Food Recovery began in 2014 volunteering with Chartwells Dining Service to recover surplus food.

RFR operates in every dining hall on campus and takes food to our community partners: Salvation Army, LifeSource, and Full Circle Food Pantry. We also operate a repacking program which creates imPACK meals which can be easily stored in dorm refrigerators. These are available at Full Circle Food Pantry on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
