EduAppCenter & LTI Installation

The GivePulse LTI is available within the EduAppCenter and any LMS (e.g. Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Schoology, Sakai, Desire2Learn, etc).

  • EduAppCenter
    This education app store is managed by Instructure, creators of Canvas, and provides details of how the GivePulse LTI app can integrate with your LMS. For more details on our app on this portal, you can review it here
  • Installing the LTI App
    The LTI can be set up by any staff member for one or many courses. Ideally, the IT administrators will set this up for specific courses or allow teachers, faculty, and staff to decide for their own courses and assignments.
  • App Configuration File
    For IT administrators, setup requires leveraging the configuration file and access to the GivePulse keys to activate the integration for your school or institution. Note, faculty members can activate the LTI without IT assistance. If you are a faculty member and would like assistance, feel free to reach out to our LMS team

Benefits to Faculty, Staff, Students and Partners

The GivePulse LTI provides an embeddable service-learning experience for a course or assignment. This allows staff and faculty to manage the service-learning course and enables students to access all resources, registration links and tracking tools within the LMS. Community partners can also access and verify outputs and engage in discussions with the students.

  • Faculty & Staff
    The GivePulse LTI drives engagement with faculty and staff by simplifying the process for training, setup, verification, reporting and accountability. Faculty, teachers and staff are now able to incorporate specific partner events and experiences into their assignments, and can access course summary reports and dashboards on GivePulse without needing to re-login.
  • Students
    Students are able to access GivePulse within the LMS, and can engage with critical areas that the faculty has outlined in the course and assignment. Students can also be redirected to GivePulse without needing to re-login.
  • Community Partners
    Partners are able to engage with students to review reflections, assessments and outputs. Their role within this LTI is to serve as a co-educator with the faculty and staff member. The feedback and verification of these outputs and qualitative data will be surfaced back into the LTI and available on the dashboards for the faculty and staff to access.

Engaged Scholarship Assessment

Faculty can set up assessments, reflection opportunities and areas to track specific outcomes to determine student learning and impact with the input of the community. For more information on assessment, go here

  • Assessments
    The platform allows you to create various assessments per assignment, experience or course. Hosting the assessment on GivePulse allows partners to access the results and engage in a co-educational capacity. For more information on assessments, go here
  • Outputs & Outcomes
    In many instances, student outputs such as hours and type of activity are captured on GivePulse for the faculty and staff to report on. The outcomes capability can also be activated for students to summarize and share the end result of their engagement.
  • Reflection
    Faculty are able to structure reflection opportunities per assignment, experience or course. For example, many faculty and staff structure their courses so that students reflect on their experience in the middle and end of the semester.
