This lecture will examine the epidemiology of neurotrauma, with a particular focus on its disproportionate burden in low-resource settings. It reviews the common mechanisms and patterns of neurotrauma, discusses evidence-based management strategies, and the unique challenges faced by health systems with limited resources. The lecture also explores sustainable approaches to strengthening neurotrauma care, including workforce development, capacity building, innovation, prevention, and health system strengthening, with the goal of improving access to timely, high-quality care where it is needed the most.
