It was a wonderful event and I truly enjoying helping this program. I helped with set up and food distribution and worked with my assigned career orientation group and served to support and translate.
This was a series of talks for parents and we helped set up and assigned one of the speakers to assist in the classroom with needs (translating, handouts)
We helped in shutting down monitors and lights in several buildings on campus. I also learned about other forms of conservation. Great program!
I volunteer for the longhorn Run on April 9th. I was present from 6:30 am to 11:00am.
My location was the Banana Alley, which helps distributes fruit and bread to the runners after they finished the race. Also helped set up tables for different companies supporting/ endorsing the longhorn run, and also volunteered in the water tables serving water to the runners as they were returning.
I volunteered with longhorns lights out by the end of March.
the purpose of the events is to help save energy or lower the energy consumption of UT by turning of lights, screens, monitors and others in different buildings. My team was assigned the George. I Sanchez building, then we came back together to learn more about the program and future plans.
An event where we got to provide basic hygiene products to the homeless by packing them in paper bags and making little cards with holiday wishes. the items range from razors, toothbrushes, socks, toothpaste, and others.
the event consisted of turning off lights around the UT campus, two buildings were assigned to my group, the CLA and also the computer science building. we also were in charge of turning off monitors and lights on classrooms. the impact is recorded by inputting the amount of light bulbs that were turned off on a link provided by the group organizers
