    GW Community Response to COVID-19

We were given the option to share recipes with our peers. Submitted a recipe to my peers to help prepare easy and nutritious meals while we are home! Recipe Below.
Here is a great smoothie I make every morning for breakfast.

    Preparation:

    Peel and freeze bananas overnight

    Ingredients:

    2 Frozen bananas

    Frozen blueberries

Yogurt Cup (I use almond milk yogurt)

    Peanut Butter

    Protein Powder (Chocolate is delcious)

    Choice of Milk

    Instructions:

Put all ingredients in blender and blend! Serve chilled. This smoothie is a great source of protein especially as I am vegan.

Used the Michael's mask kit guide to cut out masks from old t shirts. These masks required no sewing and were then dropped off at the Huntington Senior Center. Created 8 masks.

Once a week, every week I have picked up and helped pack bags of food supplies for my grandfather who lives with my family. Normally, he is able to go spend time at the senior center and participate in activities there, but since he has not been able to go I have helped my family by going to help pack and pick up food supplies for him once a week.

For service, our professor has allowed us one hour of service for staying fit. I went on a socially distanced run by the water and it was very nice to get some sun

    Martha's Table

Traveled to Martha’s Table for “tidy-up”. We cleaned the day’s dishes, as well as put away all pots and pans from the day’s cooking. We also cleaned up the yard where kids play throughout the day.

    Martha's Table

Me and Noah Axford traveled to North DC to volunteer for Martha’s Table. We handed out bags of groceries to elementary school children in need, and helped fill the bags with fruits, vegetables, chicken, and milk. we helped set up, and clean up, and interacted with the kids. It was a very positive experience.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service & Leadership 2022

The GW Men’s Rowing Team travelled to Savoy Elementary school. We painted two stories of hallways white, as the hallways had too much color before. The school believes one color can calm the kids down more, and help them focus on their studies.
