Continued weed-whacking north of Grosvenor on the SBAT—stopped about 1000 ft south of Skipton. Drove to Skipton crossing and did limb lopping to ravine crossings just south of intersection with Taylor Homestead Trail.

Should’ve worked fewer hours this morning, super humid and hot.

Weed whacked south end of SBAT from Trafalgar crossing to just above Grosvenor crossing.
Also used some fine creek gravel and sand to better mark the start of the trail from Trafalgar, down Avenby to where the trail drops into the creek bed.

While visiting the B40 bridge by the Lake Ann Waterfall I noticed that one of the upper bridge rail cables was hanging loose where the anchor had been pulled out of the post. The screw hole that anchor fit in was completely stripped so I devised a temporary (?) repair and got the cable back in place. It may need further attention in the future.

Lopped limbs, vines, etc. and did some long overdue raking on the northernmost portion of the SBAT Trail (Bear Hollow south to almost Bedford crossing). Posted pics of a large fallen live maple tree that was suspended about 8 feet above the trail. When I lopped a few of the low hanging limbs off, the tree slowly slid downward about one foot so I removed the heaviest trunk (leader) of it that was over the trail. I believe the tree is stabile now since it did not shift downward at all while I was sawing on it.
