I had the opportunity to volunteer a Tree Folks by planting trees at Copperfield Natural Trail. This service event was for Nationals Gandhi Day of Service. Being able to plant new trees and help our environment was rewarding.

Hindu Students Association hosted a PBJ sandwich making service event where we would then donate them to a shelter. This volunteer project meant a lot to me because I actually am working on a research project about eliminating hunger issues on campus. It's hard to imagine how many people go without eating meals, and I hope that we can eventually provide more than a sandwich to people.
I had the opportunity to volunteer at temple in Austin called Austin Hindu Temple at a carnival they were hosting for their community. I got to help direct people who came to the fair and advertise the walk/run the temple was hosting. I volunteered with my organization called Hindu Students Association. This opportunity was engaging because I got to interact with the community and help them learn about the benefits of running/walking and what it means to be healthy.
I got to volunteer at the American Heart Walk in Austin, and it was a fun Saturday where we helped set up for the walk and then volunteered at the American Heart Association's Health Advocacy table for the rest of the walk.

I had the opportunity of volunteering every Wednesday this semester at St. David's Hospital. I was able to discharge patients, deliver flowers, and help the hospital out in any way I could. This was a great way to learn about the medical field, and to gain interaction with people in the Austin community.

I volunteered during Texas Public Health week to give out free condoms on campus during the carnival. We educated the campus about practicing safe sex, and we also advertised the free HIV screening that was going on as well. This volunteer experience allowed me to promote healthy practices on campus, and it this makes me more motivated to pursue an occupation in the medical field.
I hosted a week long service event for Hindu Students Drive, which was a clothes drive. I planned the clothes drive, and executed the drive as well. I had my TIP mentees get involved with this because we had to do a service event together. We ended up donating it to a local church, and it was one of those moments where you realized that just by doing something really small you can make an impact on peoples lives.
As a volunteer at the Austin Diaper Food Bank, I learned that some families did not have the means to provide diapers for their kids due to their expensive costs that are not covered by any agency. I helped in sorting/counting diaper donations and packaging the donations. This volunteer opportunity taught me the importance of giving back to the community.
Monika, Can you please provide a brief description/review of this service project so I can verify the hours? Thank you.
