I helped volunteer at the assisted living facility that my mother works at over spring break. Over the course of 4 days I played bingo with the residents, assisted a speech therapist, assisted a physical therapist and danced with memory care patients. I had so much fun helping out and I left the experience a lot happier than when I left.
I have volunteered as an Academic Success Coach at the Pirate Academic Semester this entire year. During the first semester I had two mentees, and during the second semester I had one. Through this mentorship I was able to teach freshman study skills and get them involved in the resources on campus so that they can be the most successful college students that they can be. I have really enjoyed helping students on academic probation get off of academic probation. This program has also taught me that I would like to pursue my masters degree in OT because I like helping people succeed. I volunteered from 09/03/2019 - 03/05/2020
