The Holiday Heroes Project is a community event where people of the community came and wrote letters to the U.S. army that was stationed over the holidays. I wrote a letter to the 187th Infantry Regiment, appreciating them and wishing them all an amazing holiday. This even was very festive and had various activities throughout the room. I seriously loved this volunteer opportunity because it was different from the other ones I have attended, it helped out people in a different way. The event was held at the Union Ballroom at the University of Texas at Austin.

On the Saturday of the 15th of November, I volunteered with the rest of my small mentor group. My mentor is Ana Serratos, she guided us in making cupcakes to hand out to the students at the University of Texas at Austin for free. The process took 5 hours. I mixed the recipe and prepared the cupcakes to bake. After all the batches were made I helped in decorating them and then given them out in the lobby of Jester. After all the cupcakes were given out, I helped out in cleaning the kitchen that we used, located in Jester west. To validate this impact you can contact Ana Serratos at serratosana@utexas.edu
