I was given the opportunity to answer questions on a panel and accompany 6th graders from San Antonio, TX. I informed them on the motivation it takes to succeed and what they should do prepare themselves for higher education.

I enjoyed being able to facilitate and hand out arts and crafts activites for the children to do. They all seemed like they had fun creating and drawing dia de los muertos masks and marigold crowns.

I enjoyed being able to help the middle school students with their algebra assignments. They seemed thrilled to get a grasp on a lot of the concepts which showed me I was successful in my part.

Gardening 101 Class - Concho Community Garden - Wednesdays

In this lesson I learned about vermiculture composting which is basically the process of using worms, food scraps and water to create a nutrient rich soil. It rebuilds the soil thus making it environmentally friendly. Personally, the sustainment of the environment is very important to me so it was nice to pick up on these methods of doing my part in helping the environment.

I enjoyed being able to help tutor kids in math to show them that they can be successful despite challenges that arise in the concepts to them.

I enjoyed helping set up the the Career Expo because it just means that I did my part in making sure the career event ran smoothly. Everyone had a positive attitude and did what they could to help out. I hope to assist again next year.
