    Longhorn Lights Out

Very fun! As a lead mentor of the University Leadership Network, I was proud to see so many fellow ULN students completing their hour requirement with this awesome event. It feels rewarding to go into a building with all the lights on, only to come out into the darkness. All the while, we're helping to save UT some of the power costs associated with keeping lights on.

I helped serve Jim Jim's Water Ice to the University Leadership 2017 cohort at their Leadership Series. Personally, it was a great pleasure to see some of my friends who are in this group, with many of them having served alongside me as Mentors and Lead Mentors from past year.

Eric @ University Leadership Individual Acts of Kind

My friend Mario and I had the pleasure and privilege of once again distributing candy and treats to students studying for midterms. We had to reschedule this event a month early due to the Givepulse hours being due April 1st, the day of this writing. We were planning to go through with this during May, which would be around the time students would be taking finals. The activity comprised us moving around various places around the University of Texas at Austin campus to pass out candy to students who seemed to be hard at work. This event may seem simple on the surface, but there is truly no feeling better than rewarding ordinary people, who are working towards a better future, with a modest treat. This passing out of candy was nothing flashy, but it was genuine. The people who received our candy saw that and were genuinely excited to have their studying recognized. This activity is not really a great way to meet people, so it doesn't involve too many awkward meetings, so it flowed very well. Among the buildings we visited were: Jester East Dormitory, FAC, PCL, and the SAC. We definitely hope to continue to do this small act of kindness, so that people can come to expect a bit of relief from their studious and diligent lives.

Eric @ University Leadership Network Internship Fair

I volunteered at the University Leadership Internship Fair, and it was a blast! Although I only stayed for an hour, I had the pleasure of interacting with prospective ULN Mentors, seeing as how that was the table that I remained active at during the course of my shift. The internship fair this year has definitely improved from last year, so it's a truly beautiful sight to witness ULN developing into this awesome organization brimming with students who really want to contribute to the community.

Eric @ University Leadership Network Individual Acts of Kindness

My partner, Mario Molina, and I spent the day helping boost the morale of the University of Texas at Austin student community during finals by doing two simple acts of kindness. The first was that designed a poster for finals, and hung it up around campus. The second act was passing out candy to students who were studying in various locations around campus. The latter was truly rewarding, and was a continuation of an act of giving that I had done last semester with my small group in ULN. We not only gave the studious populace a sweet tooth, but also a reward for all of their hard work. We hope that these two actions will inspire more motions of kindness within the community and reignite the passion that we have in academia.

    UT Elementary Bevo Bash

I assisted in the streamlining of the Bevo Bash, setting up for the event and helping guide the people to the proper location. I spent a majority of the time face painting, which was very enjoyable because the children were extremely grateful for the menial task that I was performing. Afterwards, I helped clean up and said goodbye to the future student of UT.
