They ran out of spots on givepulse but I signed up on the website's registration page and still got in. Night was pretty cold but I had fun making new friends while conserving energy by turning off lights.

I raked leaves at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and got to appreciate the scenery.

Event Name: DeFRaG GDC
We pretty much just cleaned up the GDC. The event was called DeFrag GDC. Nothing too exciting about cleaning except for the fact that I'm in the GDC everyday so this experience was self-rewarding. We started with the 3rd floor lab. There, I helped wipe the monitors, keyboards, and desks. We did the same thing in the basement lab. We also cleaned all the tables in the 3rd floor atrium. I think the big takeaways from this event were 1) The GDC labs are super dirty and gross 2) That foam cleaning stuff we used is SUPER strong.
We turned off some lights in the law school building. I was surprised how many were still left on...oh and we won some sort of picture contest :)
A nice refreshing experience before finals.
This was my second experience with Concho Community Garden it was awesome
It was nice helping people know where to recycle and what to put in bins but it was a tad boring.
We started off by pulling out weeds and unnecessary plants to clear stuff out to grow beans. Then we turned over the soil to give it some air and digged a foot deep wide hole for the compost. After that, we made some sort of stake for the beans to grow. Then, we made a walkway and planted the beans and watered them. It was cool to see the entire process and I'm glad I was a part of this. I learned alot!
We formed groups and turned off the lights where possible and saved alot of energy. I had no idea that so many lights were left on unused during the day and night. Overall it was a cool learning experience. Afterwards, I got free pizza and a massage. Definitely one of the more exciting volunteer events I've been involved in! Would do this again next year since this is the last event!
