Today we wrote James a get well card. He got injured so the big and little kids wrote him letters to speed his recovery up and get better! Then, the kids wrote down 10 things they and everyone else who comes to AYTEF could do to help make sure it stays clean. Overall, they really enjoyed this activity and loved working together.

Today was funday Monday! The big and little kids came in and were told to draw their ideal bedroom space. Some of their artwork was very creative, and one girl designed a 3D room out of tape and scratch paper. After, they played board games since the internet was out and it was fun! Seeing them laugh and get involved with each other was a great experience.

Today, we gave the big and liittle kids a chance to do what they love best... talk! We let them each pick from a pile of questions, read them aloud, and start good conversations. After, we went outside and lined them up. They played a game almost like telephone where they were all turned around and the first person acted out a non verbal movement. Once they get through the line they have to guess what the first person was trying to act out. This taught them that communicating non verbally is very important as well.

As volunteers, another college student and I wrote on the board for the kids to take a respect quiz. After this, they wrote down 6 reasons and examples why being respectful is good, and being disrespectful is bad. After this, we read off some examples of respect/ disrespect and the kids guessed what it was. Overall, great night with these guys and loved being there!

Did an egg drop experiment with the young and older kids. It was fun to see them smile and laugh as they put their minds and projects to the test. My first time here too, and I loved helping these kids.
