About
EmBark is Southern Pines Animal Shelter’s Transport Program that saves over 4,000 lives each year by relocating dogs (and sometimes cats) from our overpopulated area to other areas of the country where these pets will easily find homes. EmBark can’t get very far without its Pit Crew which is where volunteers like you come in!
For long distance trips we require two drivers to ensure the safety of our Pit Crew and our precious cargo. All drivers must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license. The shelter provides the vehicle, covers the cost of gas, a $25 per diem for snacks/food for each driver, and lodging for up to $100 per night for drives over 6 hours.
For text alerts about upcoming trips, text EMBARK to 33222!
