I had a great time helping Emily with her honors research project. I was able to practice using the typonometry and otoscope. Two of the people that came had to be referred to an ENT to get wax removed, so I was unable to get accurate results from them. I was interesting to use these measurement technologies on my classmates while we were waiting between people.
I had so much fun! I'm so glad I could be apart of this special night!
The experience I had with giving hearing screenings was so much fun. It allowed me to better understand what I have been learning in class because of the hands on opportunity. I realized how important the small details are when giving a screening. For example, if the earphones don't fit directly over the child's ears, they might not be able to hear the beeps.
