Although the opportunity was shifted to the UT Community Garden, I still greatly enjoyed my time working to clear up the space for new plants and beautification projects.

It was wonderful to return to such a nice collection of volunteers and their garden. I have more respect for agricultural specialists every time I visit any garden like this one!
The garden required a lot of weed and grass pulling to make way for the planting of more crops. Overall it revealed a very nice deviation, that the sustainability of local communities was still a large issue for citizens rather than food distributors
Uniting with others to help the Earth and the community was very exciting and made me feel like I was benefiting something greater than myself. This event went beyond my required service so it felt so much better to continue in my volunteering pursuits!
The project simply focused on ensuring there was zero waste at a soccer game between Texas Tech and UT by having all attendees dispose of their trash in the proper receptacles. It was very relaxed and easy to manage. It is nice to see that the environment is still such a major concern as it is our only home.
The Chocolate Run is in support of funding the Ronald McDonald House Foundation for the benefit of underprivileged children. We passed out water to competitors and cheered them on as they participated in this selfless endeavor. We showed that their benevolence wouldn't go unrecognized and it was also very nice to see that many people cared enough to impact children who really needed the support.
