It was a great day to go outside on Sunday! I found a good amount of trash between Baum stadium and Lot 99. It was mostly the typical trash, like cans, bottles, and cigarette buds. I found a broken front bumper to a Subaru.

It was great to finally have some time to pick up around the community. I found mostly my normal items (cigarette buds, cans, and bottles), a mud flap, and an empty bag. I cleaned up along Razorback Road near the ballpark. It was really hot, so I only signed up for 2 hours.
It was a good day outside, but it is definitely getting hot! I mostly picked up a ton of cigarette buds. Most of the trash was cut up from mowers, so that makes it much harder to gather a lot. I found a couple of vapes and fast food waste.
I walked around the area this morning with my dogs, and I saw some trash but not a lot. I decided to pick up trash a little closer to the highway, since I haven’t picked up trash there in a while. Then I picked up trash around the dumpster. It has had piles of trash building up and I think it’s been blowing trash around the area. It was very nasty from the rain, but I was able to get it clear of big trash pieces.
It was a really good day to get outside. I liked doing the morning, because there wasn’t a lot of people out so I was able to pick up the glass around the community. I found about 100-150 cigarette buds. I found a lot of fast food trash around the community, so I was happy to pick that up since it will usually just be cut up by mowers.
It was a really good day to get outside! I walked around a lot throughout the area, because there wasn’t a lot of big trash items but a ton of cigarette buds. I probably picked up between 200-300 cigarette buds. I found a decent amount of styrofoam throughout the area from packaging and cups. Styrofoam is by far the hardest thing to clean up completely because it breaks down from the weather, so I try to get as much as I can to prevent plastics from leeching into the ground. I found a little bit of other stuff like wrappers for food and cigars. Check out this 2-3 foot long rat snake I found right off the trail!

Thank you Zach! Your focus was spot-on. Styrofoam definitely important. Cigarette butts are way more harmful to water quality than any of the other trash we find on these cleanups because of the chemicals they contain and leach (arsenic/lead) and their impact on aquatic life, they don't typically break down. and they are also the number one littered item in the U.S. And, cool snake- too bad it didn't make it. Ten bags is nothing to scoff at. :) Thank you again! |
It was a great day to pick up trash past the harsh winds that were blowing. I picked up mostly the normal type of trash, but it was mostly plastic items. I stuck around my usual area as I wasn’t able to go far or stay out for long. I did find some construction mixture on the trail that was broke open. It looked like stuff for sheet rock. I forgot to take pictures of the area before and after, but it was right down the street from Baum on Razorback road.

That wind was something else! Thanks for getting out despite that, and for all of your help throughout this school year. Appreciate you! |
Great day to be outside, although it was a little windy. I found a good amount of trash, but it was mostly what I typically find. I found a good amount of gas station trash, and all different sizes of liquor bottles. I was able to clean up a good amount of Rupple road. I cleaned from the middle school to the edge of the construction. I didn’t have a way to transport the trash so I left it near an empty area. If I need to go back to pick it up I can, I just didn’t have space in the car I was riding in. I found a lot of dead animals which was a little crazy! Also, I used up all the bags which was awesome!

Wow!! Thank you Zach, that's WAY more trash than I thought would be out there. |
It was a nice day to go outside, it wasn’t too hot however it was a little wet outside. I wasn’t able to fulfill my entire volunteer time, because when I came home for a quick water break my dog had an accident that had me cleaning for over an hour. I was able to pick up a ton of trash within the 2 hours, so part of Razorback was able to get cleaned. I wasn’t able to get a ride to Holt Middle School to clean unfortunately. Hopefully next weekend will be free of mishaps so I can focus on getting our community clean! Go hogs!
It was a great day to go pick up trash, the sky was clear and it was a great temperature! I mostly picked up household trash, however there were a couple of interesting items. I found a couple of shirts, a shoe, some metal pieces, a blender, and a bike! It was a very rewarding and tiring day, so now it’s time to watch the Super Bowl!
