Grace Hatcher

For this impact I helped tutor three of my peers for an upcoming chemistry exam. This was a new thing for me because normally I tutor kids in elementary school and middle school. I enjoyed trying new techniques to teach formulas and remember chemical equations. I enjoyed helping people who I have other classes with and seeing them succeed in their own courses.

It was nice to get a refresh on things like scholarship requirements. I liked that we went over how if you are graduating in the spring have 30 credits by the end may not be applicable to you. I also thought it was interesting how impacts are going to become more focused on our school community such as being involved in clubs or going to sports event.

I really enjoyed this session I liked the we learned more about our state legislators and what their roles in the government are I also really liked that we were able to ask questions about what the future may hold with our new president. This meeting helped me cope just a bit with the reality of our new leaders and have hope that we still have people in our government listening to our concerns and taking action on them. I also like how Martinez explained how his position is based off votes and how he goes out into the community and not only listens to the citizens but takes action on their worries and comments.
