It was nice to see everyone and get a refresher. Although this is my last semester, I benefited a lot from the session.

I attended the UMD transfer information session and am arranging a meeting with Dr. Neal to finalize my transfer plan.
I attended Student Advocacy Training Session 1, where I learned about civic engagement, advocacy, coalition-building, and lobbying. The session helped me understand how these tools work together to create meaningful change, and I’m excited for the next training session.
I attended the "CTE Challenge: Spin the Wheel of Careers!" event. It was really fun — we played bingo, and I won!
I attended the Office of Career Development and Internships’ workshop, Resumes That Work. I always enjoy presentations by Dr. Wilkins, and my biggest takeaway was learning that you should not include your full address on a resume — it can actually be used against you.
My biggest takeaway was that even if you don’t use social media, Ms. Basnight recommends having at least a LinkedIn profile. I also really liked how interactive the session was.
I attended the HNIP (Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities National Internship Program) Info Session hosted by the STEM Collegian Center. My main takeaway: you don’t need to be Hispanic to apply — it’s open to all majors and backgrounds! Thank you to Ms. Benitez for the presentation.
I attended the STRIVE Power Circle in person, led by Ms. Katrina and Mr. Brian. It was a really great experience, and I took away a lot from it. My biggest takeaway was the idea that “vocation is where what you’re good at, what you love, and what the world needs come together.”
I attended the SGA Town Hall and Q&A virtually. My biggest takeaway was the talk about staff responsibilities if deportation enforcement comes to campus. I also really appreciated Anaiah’s talk, even though unfortunately it got cut short.
I attended the Office of Career Development and Internships workshop, and my biggest takeaway was understanding the minimum hour requirements needed to earn credit for internships.
